Here is Iva Apple (née Romig) in 1941, sitting atop the yet to be installed bathtub of the Creek Cabin in Pine Apple Village. Charles has his back to the camera, and his brother Bill is half way into what would become the kitchen door of the Creek Cabin. The still unburied septic tank rests on its side to Iva's right, and on her left is her trusty Irish Setter, Terry.

 

Here Charles and Iva are playing on the unfinished porch of the Creek Cabin. Iva peeks out from behind a temporary support beam while Charles looks on, his face obscured by his left forearm.
